God is Infinite Love.
The searcher on the Way is wise if s/he always remember this Truth.
And the Truth will lead the seeker to a deeper understanding, that has been reached at all times and in all places: God is ABSOLUTE Love. This shift is not less powerful than the first shock that frees us from nihilism. The searchers on the Quest build, have built, and will build cathedrals of wonder to celebrate this vision inside the vision. And the Tradition from everywhere and from all times has transmitted until us the words of wonder that have presented the revelation of God as Absolute Love in symbols, symbols that are doors to that Truth and that are understandable by all : God as the Mother, the Infinite Absolute Mother.
In Isaiah we find (49: 14-15):
<But Zion said, "The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me."
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? >

and those familiar with the highest Buddhist doctrines will marvel at the
"benedictus fructus ventris tui" of the same Prayer, "blessed is the fruit of thy womb", that will remind them the deepest treatises on the TathagataGarbha, and not only for the obvious reason of the reference to the "Matrix of the Enlightened Ones", but even for the subtle ambiguity present in the same doctrines between the Garbha as "matrix" and the Garbhah" as "embryo", or seed. This "ambiguity" correctly unites the Matrix of Light with the Spark of Light, the Mother of God enlightened by the Ruach HaKodesh - the Holy Spirit, the Dove of Light - with the Word, the Logos as the true Heart of the Creation. Not an "ambiguity" therefore, rather an icon.
And the "Holy Mary, Mother of God", the Theotokos, can be understood and adored by millennia of history who knew and prayed the Θεῶν Μῆτερ as their ultimate Help.
And Help brings the Shekhinah, the Presence, in time of personal need ("The Shekhinah dwells over the head side of the sick man's bed" Talmud Shabbat 12b; "Wheresoever they were exiled, the Shekhinah went with them." Megillah 29a). And She is Shabbat as the Bride. And the Presence that gives Power to the Prophet and Joy in the mitzvoth.
And Presence is Parousia in the New Testament.
And She is the Stella Maris, the Star of the Sea invoked in the Encyclical letter that we quote in the header of this blog.
The same revelation will be recognized also by those who call Her Adi-Shakti, in India, or Yemanja in Brasil, and by infinite others, under myriads of names. She has been in fact called "She of the myriad names".
The modern nihilist will list these so-called "similarities" with the goal to reject the Truth of all Traditions, and especially of the Western Tradition, by using comparisons to deny the authoritativeness of each single Tradition's Teaching, but it is instead true that all the Tradition testifies about the Absolute Love of God and that the universality of the Symbols makes "more true" EACH SINGLE Tradition and it is therefore a precious Help on the Way, certainly not a "curiosity" for some nihilistic museum of "anthropology" !
Like the Infinite Love of God, the Absolute Love of God is a theme whose depth is unfathomable and it is of decisive importance: the modern nihilistic attempts to "demythologize" the Tradition are only the symptom of the radical ignorance of the nihilists: the "Virgin Mother" needs no "demythologizing" , exactly like no "demythologizing" is needed by " the Infinite One" and by "God, out of Infinite and Absolute Love, creates everything ".
No Traditional Knowledge needs to be "demythologized", because the Visionary Truth transmitted until us by the universal Tradition is a precise Knowledge, immensely more precise than any modernist blathering, immensely more powerful than the tautologies of nihilism and dualism.
Instead, it is true that the Tradition conveys until us an unfathomable Wisdom and the traces of Visions of Wonder, that we must treasure. Everywhere and in every time, the true seekers have been moved to tears of joy and to the most symphonic silence and peace by the revelation of the Absolute Love.
Labels here "fail" only because all the Traditions say the same and they are true in the same way, not because we must discard any tradition !
Indeed, the mundane enterprises that now and then try to mask themselves as "traditions" never teach the Infinite Love of God, and much less the Absolute Love of God...and much less do they speak of the Infinite Mother Who gives Help: to the nihilist, to the ignorant, and to the dualist such Teachings are "myths", fables for the simple-minded (the nihilist, the ignorant, the dualist merely see around themselves the projections of themselves: therefore they see a lot of "simple-minded" people).
The Absolute Love of God is astonishing for the human beings, who have to bend the language to its extreme just only to be able to begin to talk about it, but in this maze, like in the labyrinths of the great Gothic Cathedrals, we cannot get lost, if we follow the path until the central Rose. And what path may that be, other than Love ?
The Absolute Love of God calls us with a subtle AND thundering voice to follow the path of Love, to renounce evil and hate, to fight against the omission of good. There is no Wisdom without Love, and Wisdom leads us to learn to love, to overcome the multiple brainwashings that want to make us self-centered and selfish. Without love we are like those "faithfuls" who go to church with their body only, leaving their soul and their spirit somewhere else, and busy planning further evils and omissions of good.
Infinite Love is the Perfection of God, Absolute Love is the Door that God opens for us, and love is the Way on which we can walk to that Door and to God. Even the deepest and subtlest Wisdom is nothing if our love is not a healing light and a soothing night for the world, for every being. And there is no "teaching", unless there is teaching love. And no learning either, unless there is learning love. There are no life nor thought either, if we fail to obey the Call to love.
Even the fight to defend our precious Gift, Freedom, cannot be won if we hate, if we do not cultivate compassion for the lost souls of the murderers, of the torturers, of the legions spitted out from hell. The intransigent condemnation of evil and the lucid awareness about the role of the persons who actively work for darkness against the light of truth must not change our fundamental attitude of love: every soul lost to evil was nonetheless a child of the Infinite Love of God and if we forget this ... we are working for the darkness too.
How much more should we then love our neighbor !
How much more should then our lives be a constant effort to be a friend and a helping hand for those in need of any help !
How much more should then our lives be an ocean of love for our friends, our children, our spouses, our families !
This is "freedom of choice", the only freedom that we have indeed: to love.
This is a battle that we may perhaps continually fail, but that we certainly must continuously re-engage.
This is the true Way of the Sacred Tradition: the Way of Love.
If we pray without intermission out of Gratitude and Joy, we love without intermission to testify the truth of our gratitude and joy.
