Knots and Jigs...

In the article about ART published here some days ago you can read

This of course is true of all Art, but the arts of some -  and actually of many  - national traditions have focused with more attention on the explicit symbolism to the Now of the Aion, the Eternal, the whole of reality as Genesis and Revelation.

(Note : you will need to do your homework and carefully search the archives of this blog for an explanation, in the articles about Tradition and Symbolism, of the expression "symbolism TO..." that I have used in this last sentence. Bon voyage !)

The symbolism to the Now of the Aion focuses on the present as absolved from the apparent "fall" of its inexorable becoming the past of a future: here the chains of fate (typical of all forms of nihilism) are loosened and the present is transformed into the Present of the Creation,  a Destiny where Freedom is lived with Joy: such Present doesn't run away but moves in wondrous circles, spiraling in depth and involving us in charms.
"We can't actually and materially "stop" the present ! " will now yell the nihilist, in skeptic's disguise...but such, and similar, calls to "reality" ask from us to renounce the dignity of our Reason and pretend that we look at the "real" and see only "things", renouncing thought and reflection: Art instead evokes the true reality, i.e. the Almighty Love of God Who creates the world in an Eternal (i.e., free from space and time) Now. The Tradition says that  this is the only "real" and the traditional Art is able to dispel the snares of despair, the ignorant fables of the nothing, and can truly CALL us to the Vision, call us to see the Truth that is so near to us that we usually disregard it...

You hear it ? it doesn't run away ! It is artificially interrupted, just before the music starts absorbing the whole known universe into Absolute Beauty.
The harmony runs from itself to itself, in a virtuous circle, in a composition of circles...in a Celtic knot !


  


That music and this knot come from the same tradition and they point to the same traditional Teaching:  they address us to the Present of Wonder, they focus our mind away from the ghost invented by nihilism, the present that is "nothing" because it is supposed to be just passing by, away from the fake present that is woven by the irrational belief that what is... is not ( and by the even more irrational belief that "what is" can be explained from the bottom up, forgetting the Origin, the Cause, the Being who gives being to every"thing".)

After the nihilist conquest of the world, the words, the music, and the images of the Artists were declared  "meaningless" by attributing "art" to the individual ego, exactly in the same way that the Vision was declared "psychopathology". But the Light that is in the human beings still recognizes the call of the Truth and rejoices in it, and still some Artists who know that they are led by their Art do exist. And the Vision always talks, to those who want to hear.

"Multiculturalism", invented by the subversives to debase the Western Tradition,  turns against the subversives and reveals that all the traditions of all the peoples carry the same universal message, in infinite symphonic variations of the same Truth, of the same Tradition...

   


That's a Tibetan "endless knot"   (Skt. shrivatsa; Tib. dpal be'u): the Infinite Compassion and the Infinite Wisdom weave (Tantra, Sanskrit: तन्त्र;  "to weave") all the real, in Buddhist  terms. Like the Eros-Logos of the Greek, and like the Wisdom and the Love of God of the Jews, and then of the Christians...
The same symbol to the same  Now , the Now of the Aion, the Eternal Who Creates this split second.

The Art of Life survives even in these dark days in which the hordes of the orcs celebrate delusional triumphs in their evil works of death. Let them roll in their evil.
Listen again to the Gael, Eluana is listening with us. The murderers only "think" (pseudo-think, anyway) that they can destroy Life, but they can't, they can only show their evil intention.
The Love of God protects Life, forever.

The Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has issued a decree to save Eluana Englaro, the girl whose "father" has obtained from the judges the permission to interrupt her life-sustaining feeding...which is the politically correct language for: the permission to murder her. The decree by the Berlusconi government forbids such interruption.
The President has refused to sign the decree, thus opening a constitutional crisis.
The political details have no importance of course, what matters is that the fight against the forces of death continues.

We will  be able to stop the forces of subversion only when we will defeat the culture of death that nihilism has spread all over the world.
Mr. Berlusconi is a lonely and gallant gentleman. Godspeed !

Art...

The Artist has the CAPACITY of receiving  the Vision that melts the "trinity from hell" ("things", "matter", "facts") and of transmitting to others the feeling-knowledge of the FIRST MORNING OF THE CREATION, the Now of the Aion, the Eternal.
Like those who walk on the Sacred Way, the true Artist lives in the Wonder, the Joy, the Mystery, and the Awe.
The "capacity of receiving"  has grades of course, "steps" that we can understand better in D. T. Suzuki's terms: that "capacity" can go from being  "a guest" of the Vision to being  "the host" of the Vision, in increasing degrees of power. And there are degrees of awareness, of course. Until today, in sheltered corners of the planet, Artists-Shamans live  fully aware of their duties and of the ways to fulfill them.
For what concerns us, the Artist who is "guest" of the Vision will transmit to us the Vision and the Artist who is a "host" will make us enter in it, will pull us inside the Vision...for a while or forever...You live forever with Mozart and Rembrandt and with the ancient Russian icons...and with, and in, the sound of a  Stradivarius violin... 

In the West, all this lived perhaps until the long series of the "Sainte Victoire" paintings by Cézanne, until the "Last Supper" by Dalí...

Then the orcs  hindered, obstructed, blocked the Gates by issuing their marching orders: 'produce ugly "art" !'. And the not-artists savagely obeyed.

But now that we have mentioned "ugliness" the orcs of the nihilistic regime will  raise their voices to accuse us of being incapable of understanding that "all 'beauty' is an historically-determined construct that reveals severe classist, sexist and racist  prejudice". In other words, if you think that something is beautiful and something else is ugly, the nihilists say, you are some sort of a little hitler.
That is the typical projection of the nihilists: they have created the sub-culture in which all the hitlers and the stalins and the terrorists can be born and can thrive, but they accuse everyone ELSE of nurturing the beast.
The theoretical problem of beauty is instead defined exactly by the contrary of the nihilistic position: true Art alchemically "transforms" every"thing" that it touches in beauty ("alchemically", because it obeys the Path of the "SOLVE ET COAGULA": melts "things", "matter", "facts" and reveals Divine Beauty), and it is the non-art of the century of the massacres, the non-art inspired by nihilism and ideologies, that is UNABLE to see the Divine Beauty that is at the core of ALL, and precisely for this reason it exalts ugliness, because it can't see true beauty !
True Art shares this capability of seeing the Divine Beauty that is at the core of all with true Love: the non-art of the nihilist regime shows instead the lack of Vision and the lack of Love that moves the followers of darkness.
Michelangelo says that his job is only to take away the "too much" of marble that imprisons the statue that is already there, the imitation-artists of today ...can't even see the rock !

The Visionary, the Artist, the Lover, see the Divine Beauty, and the Artist can make others see it.
The cult of ugliness of the last one hundred years is just the symptom of a disease: the nihilists deny the dichotomy Beauty-ugliness BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE BEAUTY. To their dark eyes, everything is fog, they see no Sacred Day and no Sacred Night. Here, the Teaching that we can receive from  the Gospel is precious: "Your word be yes yes, no no", (Matthew 5:37 KING JAMES: But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.) ἔστω δὲ ὁ λόγος ὑμῶν ναὶ ναί, οὒ οὔ• τὸ δὲ περισσὸν τούτων ἐκ τοῦ πονηροῦ ἐστιν. , and Revelation admonishes the lukewarm, the final tool of the beast (Revelation 3:16 KING JAMES: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. οὕτως ὅτι χλιαρὸς εἶ, καὶ οὔτε ζεστὸς οὔτε ψυχρός, μέλλω σε ἐμέσαι ἐκ τοῦ στόματός μου.)

And the orcs want to teach you that "art is a code..." and all the rest of the blah blah blathering...
No: Art is one of the paths in the Sacred Way.
We can no longer walk it, apparently, or only very very rarely.
But that doesn't mean that art is what the orcs of the nihilistic regime tell you.

The Artist and the Seer certainly share the "inability" to tell us in words "what" they mean, but that's just because it  is not any "what": like with the Seer, you talk with the Artist directly, heart to heart, mind to mind, spirit to spirit...or there is no such dialogue at all.
Every split second is the First Morning of the Creation: feel it and know it in the only way it can be known: like a river of Joy in your heart, kneeling in adoration of the Mystery, mute AND speaking in tongues for the absolute Wonder and Awe.
Yes, poets do use "words", but strange words indeed, that melt "things".

True Philosophers could speak in the same way, before the ice age of nihilism, that froze the minds and the hearts.

To All who are on the Way, the "real" is God nailed to the cross of space and time AND gloriously Resurrected, it is Genesis and Revelation.
Nihilism HAD to try to close the window of Art...like any good-old fashioned vampire, it can't stand the Light.
And nihilism is a totalitarian ideology, and this means that it cannot STAND if the human beings are free to live and breathe the Truth, it needs to close all the windows to the Truth. Nihilism needs to convince you and everyone that NOTHING is the Truth and that the Truth is nothing.
It fails, of course, because the Truth lives at another level, unreachable for the nihilist ideology...But nihilism can do great damage, and it did and it does.
But it can only do as much damage as we allow it to do, and it can do nothing if we laugh at its pretenses.
Laughing at the idiocies of nihilism is easy: we can do it by cultivating beauty,  a cult for the true great art. Thousands and thousands of years of art are here for all of us to enjoy (literally: enter in the Joy that true Art reveals). And let the nihilists "enjoy" the ugliness created in the century of the massacres.

The nihilist will try one last trick: he will tell you that true great art is "archeology", passé, past, old...
