(This article must be read as the second part of our post "History of the fall...")


What happens when the whole society is invested by the OMISSION of thought that nihilism is ?

The (pseudo-)cultural leaders that have sided with nihilism by omitting to focus their  reflection on the fundamental question ("whence the being of all that is ?") - and have thus rejected the Truth of the Eternal Being Who Is, the Truth of God Who Is Infinite Love - can inform the whole society with their ignorance: they write books, they train teachers, they can reach large audiences, they set the general tone of the cultural debate. In this way, the "general culture" ( the shared set of values and beliefs) of the society can be easily influenced by the thought that has been transformed into pseudo-thought by the omission that nihilism is.

But the story, although tragic, is not so simple.
The pseudo-leaders omit the Truth of God, omit the Quest for the Sacred Knowledge, and inevitably deny the Sacred Vision too. But the human path without the Vision becomes a very dark path, because the Revelation of the Vision is the only possible source for the impulse to a life guided by Love. True Love is built on the Joy and the Awe of the Sacred Vision. Without the impulse of the Vision, love withers: it becomes sentimentalism - that is often a mask for despair - or worse, it becomes a word with no meaning.

(Before proceeding in our analysis, it is important to highlight that the use of the verb "to deny" in the sentence "the pseudo-leaders...deny the Sacred Vision" is correct because, in line of principle, the Vision speaks to every single human being and although it is true that "reaching"  the Sacred Vision is the work of a life-time, such "work" is not a worldly work and often, or always, implies a backward path, a path that leads the individual back to his/her spiritual roots. The young Plato was still able to  identify "knowledge" and ANAMNESIS - memory, RECOLLECTION.
Therefore the verb "to deny" is appropriate: they refuse to remember who they truly are).

Any degree of the Vision reveals the Immensity of the Eternal Creation, the Creation that - free from time and space - is the Now of the Aion. The immense Awe and the immense Joy of the Vision lead directly to the understanding that the Infinite God Who Is has donated Life and Freedom to us and that the Aion, the Eternal, is paradoxically nailed to the cross of space and time for the Love of all who are. The Infinite Being Who Is suffers the existence of finitude and evil to grant us Life and Freedom: Infinite Love !

Thus it is the Path of Wisdom that inevitably teaches us Love.
The Vision reveals that to the humans is given the Gift of being able to imitate the Love of God and that to the humans is given the Gift of Freedom that allows them to actually imitate the Love of God.
The first duty that the Sacred Knowledge reveals to the human beings is the duty to respect such Gifts and consequently the duty to build a life founded on Love and Freedom.

The Vision opens the Way to Wisdom, and Love in action is the evidence that the individual has met Wisdom and has listened to Her.

The fake "leaders" who have not accepted to be oriented by the Sacred Knowledge inevitably ignore Love.
This is the primary tremendous consequence of the nihilistic ignorance.
And where do they lead the culture and the society if this is their ignorance ?
Ignorance of Love is inevitably hate.
Into hate. They lead culture and society into hate.

Ignoring Love means that the pseudo-leaders see the society as a battlefield, where the Other, the other person, can only be a tool or an enemy because the Other is never understood in its inherent dignity of Presence of the miracle of Life and being.

Unable to understand Love, and therefore unable to understand human dignity, the pseudo-leaders can only cherish those pseudo-cultural underworlds that we call "ideologies": "ideologies" are just the leftovers of past ignorance and are palatable to the nihilist pseudo-leaders because in the ideologies there is no trace of Love.

And which ideology can best fuel, and often at the same time disguise, hatred ?
The ideology of class-warfare.
Don't be fooled: it doesn't matter on which "side" the pseudo-leaders engage in the evil of class-warfare: it can be on the side of the socialist-communist totalitarians who want "to steal from the rich" (to give the loot to... themselves !) or it can be on the side of the soulless greedy person who does not want to see the sufferings of the people, doesn't pay decent wages, exploits children ... you name it...
...the "side" doesn't matter. The decisive point of ideology is the lack of Love.
The decisive point of class warfare is that it transforms the society in a battlefield where people who should cooperate for the good of each and everyone instead fight each other and aren't any longer able to see that every society is one  ship, that sinks or sails as a whole.

Through the ideologies promoted by the pseudo-leaders, the lack of love spreads like a fire to the whole society, infecting it with factionalism.

The lack of Love is the infection that dooms a society, a Republic.

The infection must be fought by challenging the cultural misery of the ideologies, and we must certainly bring the Republic back to its solid and good roots:
no factions and no class warfare, One Nation.
But at a most fundamental level the infection that consists of the lack of Love must be fought by defeating ignorance, and ignorance is always one and only one, it is ignorance of God as the Infinite Being Who Is, and Who Is Infinite Love.

History of the fall...

The mutation of the Western civilization from a civilization centered on the Quest for the Truth and for the Sacred Knowledge to a civilization centered on nihilism has been a very long process: the overlapping and recurring phases of this process can certainly be precisely identified but this "history of the fall" would be of little use if we kept our discourse at the level of  simple diachrony instead of focusing on the central and fundamental element of this spiritual devolution. To fully understand the process of going astray from the Sacred Way we must first identify  its core, in the hope that we can thus attain a new spiritual orientation.

The core of the catastrophe lies in a rebellion against Knowledge and Wisdom (and any such rebellion implies inevitably a rebellion against Justice too): the Gift of Freedom, that implies the obligation of decency and consistency, has been usurped inasmuch as the intellectuals have used Freedom  to renounce thought and to deny the self-evident Truth. Often trying to disguise itself as a form of super-intellectualism, a dark skepticism has clouded the minds and the hearts, with the goal of obscuring the light of the intellect and of fogging the sense of justice.

Immersed in the Light of the Wonder of the Creation, fallen humans have declared the marvel of the Being...invisible ! The rebellion against Knowledge and Wisdom consists in this rebellion against thought itself: the wonder of being, of being in a universe and of the being of all that is...it is not even taken into consideration: the being of everything is looked at in the same way a machine, a video-camera could look at the world, as a mere presence. This is a rebellion because the hidden intention behind this OMISSION of thought is to further omit the inevitable question that stems from any and every consideration about the being of all that is:
whence the being of all that is ?
Only in the most recent times the nihilist dared utter their monstrous answer to that question (i.e., that all that is came from nothing), but the omission of thought went on for centuries before these darkest forces emerged to the surface of the "culture" (today reduced to quasi-nothing itself). And the omission of the question "Whence the being of all that is ?" is more important than the delirious and monstrous answers of the nihilists, because such an omission of thought is enough to close the Sacred Way for all who fall prey of this intellectual trap.

And the omission of thought is a blasphemy, because it is committed IN FRONT OF the Eternal Creation: God Who Is Infinite Love eternally (that is, being absolutely free from time and space) creates all that is, and from our point of view the Creation is happening just NOW. In front of the Radiant Light,  of the thundering roar, and of the whispering poetry of the Infinite Love of God...we turn away, we don't even look, we don't ask "from where this blade of grass ?". From where all that is ?
 
And then we ask all the other possible questions, having omitted the only one that is important.

This intentional omission damns us to sheer stupidity and to be easily prey of evil, especially of evil  in the form of those complexes of pseudo-ideas built on top of other pseudo-ideas that are known as ideologies.  The vacuum artificially created in our spirit by the omission of the most fundamental question sucks into our minds pieces and crumbs of disparate doctrines, pseudo-scientific truths, and psychotic interpretations of the reality that we then put together in Babel towers of pseudo-theories and we dare apply to the reality, with catastrophic results that anyway don't quench the stubborn idiocy that originated them. ( The "best" example is the case of the marxist ideology  that, after causing hundreds of millions of victims - murdered, tortured, deported, "re-educated" in mental institutions - keeps being proposed as the "true solution" for every societal problem (be it real or invented) by the same pseudo-intellectuals who usually can't survive more than a few months in a marxist regime without being wiped out themselves as "enemies of the people".)

Ideologies of course fail to fill the hole left in our spirit by the omission of the most fundamental question ("whence the being of all that is ? "), therefore the individuals who  fall  prey of ideologies tend to become fanatics,  addicts of pseudo-ideas who need heavier and heavier doses of obsessive excogitations and who obsessively try to convert everybody to their "great truth".
How far all that is from the quiet  joy of the person who truly lives in the Light of the Love of God ! How deep the silent smile of Kashyapa (Mahakasyapa), who smiled when the Buddha, without pronouncing a word, lifted a flower in front of the assembly of Saints !

"Whence the being of all that is ?"
That is the question that opens the Way and denounces all ideologies, because it opens the Way to God, and to receive God's unending and Infinite Love.
And that is the question that we must contemplate until the Sacred Knowledge will DAWN again on the West and the ghosts of the night of nihilism - i.e., the ideologies that poison the hearts and the minds of the People - will be dispelled.

That Morning of Joy can be NOW for every spirit who will reject the omission of thought and will thus accept to open the Door...

When the ghosts of the night of nihilism  (the blind faith that wants to say that the sheer nothing originated the being) will be dispelled, then Religion will be again what religion is, i.e. Sacred Knowledge, the Quest for the Vision led by Sophia-Wisdom and oriented by the Principles of the Way. And philosophy will reject pre-scientific and pseudo-scientific pseudo-thoughts and will become love of sapiential knowledge again: thinking will be consistently centered on the Infinite Being Who Is and action will be dictated by Love, Joy, and Awe. All ideologies will be seen for what they truly are, a fruit of the materialistic and nihilistic blind faith, a poisoned fruit able to obscure the Spirit and the Reason of the human beings. Consequently ,even the dark world of politics will be enlightened by the Principles of the Way.

God is Infinite Love, therefore  the Grace of God - despite all the evil in the humans (and despite the necessary finitude of...the finite !) - unceasingly flows unto the world. Myriads of Angels mysteriously help the world without intermission.
The laws of Nature cannot of course be violated by such Help, because such a violation would destroy the whole nature, nor can the Angels reach the heart of those who want to deny the Truth, but subtle Miracles surround us all the time and the Wonder of the Creation, the Miracle of the Creation in this split second,  is all around us. We can build a "wall" in our spirit not to see the Immense Light that floods the world, but the Light is here.

Nihilism has spread the poison that consists of looking at the world without wonderment, but if we reach the true silence inside ourselves (that true silence from which all music stems !) we can suddenly wake up and see. We can see the world as if we had never seen it, and wake up to the Wonder of the Gift of being.
If we can reach the Wonder, we will perceive the flutter of the Wings of the Angels.
The smallest blade of grass is the roaring and thundering proclamation of the immense majesty of the Creation in the Light of God.
We often forget this Truth because our minds and our hearts are full of chatter, but when we remember the Truth we can understand that God doesn't ever abandon us and that God is all around us and with us, if we listen.

Rabbi Moshe Cordovero (Ramak) (1522-1570) admonishes us not to make a deadly mistake when he says:
"God is all the reality, but all the reality is not God"
But this sentence is not only an admonishment, it's also a powerful visionary proclamation of the Truth: God is all the reality !
(The nihilists of course will immediately attack this sentence by blathering about evil, but evil is not any "reality", evil is the LACK of justice and righteousness - you can find the best discussion of this point in Saint Anselm's De Veritate (On Truth), in the De Concordia (On Harmony), etc.)

Think about the roaring, thundering, radiant Creation of every"thing" in this split second !
The Infinite Love of God  follows the flight of the yellow jacket,  swims with the bass,  digs deep with the root, flies with the planets, walks with the ant, plays an organ at a fair, rolls with the eighteen-wheeler, sleeps with the granite, dances with the seas, circles in the paradoxical not-space of the black holes, thinks with the mathematician, slumbers with the baby... universes upon universes of infinite facts and stories ... upon universes upon universes ...
Then some people say that God is "invisible" . "God is invisible" ? In the middle of a roaring radiant multibillion-years Gift of infinite Life, is God  invisible ? What do these people smoke ? The problem is that the gates of the soul are locked, and devilish ironsmiths have worked for a really long time to lock them tight. Devilish lies lock the doors of our soul: lies that whisper..."all that is...came from nothing ! the nothing created something !"
"Nothing created something" ? And the nihilists even dare call themselves "free thinkers" ? "Thinkers" ?
The sheer nothing can give birth to something, anything ?
Let's reject these idiocies.
Let's open the doors of our soul.
Let's stay in the river of Light.
We are with God and in God and safe forever.

And if we keep the gates of our soul open the Infinite Love of God will be allowed to reach us.
Let's open the gates of the soul to the Immense Love of God, let's allow the Myriads of Angels and the Depth of the Grace to reach us and to bless us !
 
Allowing the Love of God to reach us must be our main task : this could probably be the best interpretation of the strategic verse in Genesis 44:10 ("as per your words, so it will be"). In fact if we say NO to the truth we will indeed raise a wall in front of the Light, and the wall will inevitably cast a shadow, in which we will live.
If we don't understand that the Infinite Love of God unceasingly flows unto the world, we will not be able to understand  WHY the Scripture says: "as per your words, so it will be". Doesn't that sentence sound like acknowledging  that  the humans  have an unlimited power ? No, such "new age" reading is an heresy, it's a straying from the Way of the Sacred Tradition.
Instead, that verse says that we will live in the darkness if we choose to close the gates of our souls to the Infinite Love of God. The Light of the Love of God flows unto the world, and denying this truth hinders the Light and casts a shadow. And we must be aware of this. That's the teaching of that verse.

No doubt, even when we dwell in the Wonder and in the Awe for the Infinite Love of God, evils will still be able to reach us, but they will not be able to reach our spirit.
And this in turn will give us a strong advantage against  evil !
Undoubtedly, evil coming from human hearts has a great power, but the Power of the Infinite Love of God is Immense and Myriads of Angels will help our spirit if we remain in the Light of the Truth. They can give our spirit a force that can overcome and redeem sorrow, tragedy, and horror with the Light of the Eternal Life and of the Eternal Joy.

What are we to do to resist the subversion of the Republic ?
We know (or we should know) that the domestic and foreign subversion aims at attacking/limiting/destroying the power of America because the force of America is the main obstacle for the international subversion's goal to  limit (or, which is the same, to end) Freedom. To oppose this plan we need to know how the subversion proceeds, how it got  here and where are its roots.
Failing this, we will play in the hands of the subversives because we will be lost in tactics while the subversives are always focused on long term strategy.
If we miss even the simple FIRST element of the analysis, we will keep thinking and saying that the subversives make policy "mistakes"  because we don't see that their goal is MAINLY to weaken America (and to this goal, exposing the economy to a catastrophic inflation, limiting the budget of the Defense, "apologizing" abroad for "America's arrogance" are not "mistakes" but operations carried on with precision): how much more we will misunderstand if we ignore the roots and the history of the nihilist-subversive conspiracy !

The subversives' project is based on
-  dividing the Nation by using ideologies,
and the ideologies of class-warfare are based on
-  a general nihilist "philosophy"
and the subversives have made of the nihilist pseudo-philosophy
-  a worldwide cultural regime in which true philosophies, i.e. alternatives to nihilism, cannot survive.

Let's discuss these points.

What's easier than the job of the subversives ? They pollute the society with the poison of civil war, of class-warfare, of civil strife and of hate, and after creating THAT political terrain they let their opponents fight on THAT terrain against them, thus causing THEIR OPPONENTS to increase the strife, the unrest, the divisions. The greater the scandal the subversives can create the better for them, because they know that the hearts of honest people will answer with embittered rage to their cruel provocations.
A sardonic smile is behind all this, an evil smile.

What's more difficult than the duty of the Freedom Fighter ? The Freedom Fighter has to reject hate, has to reject the divisive spirit that all the ideologies stemming from nihilism imply and support :  to be able to do that he has to remain ABSOLUTELY faithful to the core Principles of the Sacred Tradition, to the Sacred Truth that is alien to any ideology. The Freedom Fighter has to keep his mind and his heart centered on the truth of the Infinite God Who Is Infinite Love, only in this way he/she  can help all the People to reject the spirit of divisiveness. The Freedom Fighter has to be a fortress and a monastery, a dam and the fulcrum of the Resistance against the subversive-divisive spirit.
 
"...ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL." To this Nation, made of free individuals, the subversives want to substitute a heap of groups in conflict with each other, because this will make the Nation weaker, and  this  in turn is the only way they have to impose a totalitarian regime to the People.
Long ago the subversives have invented one of their most destructive lies, that "classes" have conflicting interests and that the "class" of the "workers" has to fight to rip "the power" away from the "class" of the "rich". And it is certainly not rare to observe that many who should protect the People from such lies actually behave in a sort of upside down class-warfare, thus helping the subversives to spread their propaganda. Under the cover of "competition" there are some who traffic in human beings to pay third-world salaries for the work they need done, others move their companies to countries where forms of slavery and exploitation are common, and yet others pay low salaries to hard-working American citizens. All these are the true "useful idiots" of the subversives, and they contribute to the subversion of the Nation for the sake of their greed. Such USURERS are as much un-American as the subversives.
The Freedom Fighter must steer away from any trace and thought of class-warfare ideology and he/she must fulfill  the pledge of allegiance by keeping his actions and his thoughts in line with the Principle that is highlighted in the words "under God".

Resisting the subversive-divisive spirit means  being able to subvert the true core of the subversion, and such core is,  although in a perverted sense,  theoretical. The theoretical core of subversion is nihilism and nihilism implies  directly the rejection of every and any ethical value: if the sheer nothing is the true nature of everything, there can be no rational nor reasonable foundation for any ethic. The fundamental step to subvert the subversion is therefore subverting the blind faith that all that is has been originated by the sheer nothing  and that is also the necessary step to be able to defend any ethical value.  Only the Truth of the Infinite God Who Is Infinite Love is powerful enough to reject the spirit of civil war, the spirit of class warfare. Any discussion that remains limited to the ideological-political level is doomed to help the subversives because it implicitly denies any ethical and theoretical Principle. The Principles must be held high against the enemies of Freedom, and the Principles need to be deeply understood  by  the People, only this can crush the spirit of divisiveness.

The gramscian strategy of the subversives is badly understood when we say that the subversives have invaded the schools, the universities, and the media to conquer power: they did all that, but there is one additional important and decisive mediation that we must NEVER forget in our analysis: the subversives have conquered the schools, the universities, and the media to establish a stronghold - and a stranglehold - in and on our hearts and our minds. For subversion to succeed, despair must be in our hearts and our minds: if , instead, the Joy for the Miracle of the Eternal Creation is present in us, the subversives are defeated. Without this decisive mediation, all their work would be useless: the subversives need the SHARED lack of Principles to be able to win.
The leader of the Italian communists made all this clear in the Seventies, when he said he wanted to establish "a NEW COMMON SENSE". The process of subversion of Freedom cannot succeed without this fundamental subversion that tries to uproot the West from its five thousand years of Sacred Tradition.

The subversives hide the main goals of their strategy behind a barrage of propaganda, ideologies, and pseudo-scientific "facts", but we must be able to see through this fog and we must aim at subverting the CORE of  subversion, the core of despair that nihilism, as blind faith in the sheer nothing, is and has always been.

And we need a  long-range diagnosis of the strategy of the subversives, not only an understanding of their latest moves, because the subversives have carried on a long range maneuver that spans over the last two centuries.
The nihilists have carried on a double operation against culture; first they have presented delirious and irrational "answers" to the Tradition as the "new and true" knowledge (Kant...), they have made an idol of science, and they have called such follies "Age of Enlightenment", then (being perfectly aware that their positions were untenable) the nihilists have gradually taken control of all the channels of communication of culture and have ferociously refocused all the cultural debate by speaking, writing, publishing (and, more importantly, allowing to speak and to publish ONLY) AS IF the entire Western Tradition didn't exist as such, i.e., as the Sacred Tradition.
Today, well into the twenty-first century, any final product of the nihilistic brainwashing machine (a.k.a. as a "university graduate") knows maybe something about the masters of deception (Marx, Freud, and Nietzsche, of course in the nihilistic version )   but doesn't  know how to read the Talmud, or Parmenides, or the Odyssey, or Saint Anselm. Five thousand years of civilization have been declared useless by the apparatchiks of the nihilist regime and have been substituted by TV shows conductors "speeches" and by brainwashing political propaganda. In the West, few "specialists" can even read Hebrew AND Greek AND Latin ...and/or any other important language of the Western Tradition ...
If you check the biographies of the Founding Fathers you will have a really big surprise about this !
 
The patient work of education (the PAIDEIA) aimed at the formation of an intensely human human being has been substituted by the brainwashing with dogmas of nihilism: moreover, information has substituted formation, and "information" is of course what is produced by the nihilistic regime as the "correct"  food for the brainwashed mind: the regime doesn't only guarantee to you that you will ignore (i.e., you will be unable to reflect upon and understand) Ajax, Achilles , Hector and Patroclus,  David and Salomon, but it makes sure that you know very little about Brian Chontosh as well.

The true battle now is to spread the understanding that the worldwide regime of nihilism is the new Dark Age.
At the end of the Dark Ages, after the West had been ravaged by centuries of barbaric invasions, wandering intellectuals gathered in this or that city to listen to and to discuss the lessons of the few available teachers and the treasures of knowledge that had been preserved in the Monasteries (that for centuries had acted as the fortress of culture). In this way, a consistent network of knowledge was woven and that, in time, led to the foundation of the first universities (Bologna, Paris). Today "networking" takes a different meaning in a practical sense but not so different in historical terms: Internet allows us to escape the totalitarian control of culture and of information, the net is the new medium that the subversives for now do not control (completely) and, more importantly, the Net can be the new University, where the WHOLE history of the nihilist domination of culture and communication can be subverted.

We can defeat the subversives on the long run only if we  demolish their entire conquest machine, and that means that we have to become able to identify the roots of today's political follies in yesterday's cultural brainwashing and in the long war of nihilism against the Sacred Tradition.
We need Monasteries and Fortresses of Truth to resist the wave of neo-barbarianism !

As it is said in the article "Steady !" published some weeks ago on this blog, we will be able to dispel the darkness of the nihilistic regime only by re-centering ourselves entirely around the Truth of the Infinite God Who Is Infinite Love.
Politics will follow. But the real Power that can stop the subversion is the Power of the Prayer, and the work necessary to re-center the cultural debate away from the blasphemies of nihilism is a form of Prayer.

The masters of deception will not be able to counter the Force of the Truth: as we carry on our exodus from the Egypt of the pseudo-culture of nihilism, the Sea of Knowledge will close on their legions. The way is very dangerous for those who choose to deny the Teaching of the Tradition, and the Way is instead a Miracle of Joy, Mystery, Wonder, and Awe for those who  listen.
